Morocco Connections Travel is part of Bright Square Africa, based in Casablanca, Morocco — an organization dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery and supporting economic development across Morocco and Africa.
Dr. Ayoub Lahlou grew up in Morocco with a deep appreciation for his country's extraordinary diversity — from the ancient medinas of Fez and Marrakech to the sweeping dunes of the Sahara and the vibrant port of Casablanca. That love of place, culture, and people never left him, even as his career carried him across continents.
A medical doctor by training, Ayoub began his career as a general physician in Morocco, working within the country's public health system at the Ministry of Health. In 2012, a Fulbright Foreign Student scholarship opened a new chapter: he pursued an MBA in Health Administration at the University of Colorado Denver, gaining the management and strategy tools to reimagine how healthcare could work in Morocco.
After his Fulbright program, he built an international career — working with firms including McKinsey and IQVIA, and gaining hands-on experience in Moroccan clinics in Rabat — always bridging global best practices with the Moroccan healthcare reality.
In 2024, Dr. Lahlou founded Bright Square Africa, a consultancy dedicated to enhancing the delivery of social services — particularly in healthcare — across Morocco and Africa, at a moment when Morocco was undertaking a landmark reform to achieve universal healthcare coverage.
Morocco Connections Travel grew naturally from that work. As Dr. Lahlou built relationships with hospitals, universities, and local experts, a pattern emerged: international visitors — students, patients, curious travelers — struggled to access the real Morocco. They needed a trusted guide, not a tourist package.
The first cohorts were small and intentional: a handful of American students embedded in Moroccan academic and healthcare settings, and a few medical travelers navigating Casablanca's growing private hospital network. The feedback was unanimous — the experience was transformative, affordable, and deeply human. Those early groups became the proof of concept for everything Morocco Connections stands for today.
Every program we design still reflects that founding belief: curated, connected, and built on relationships that took years to earn.
